Remote Online Notarization: Get Your Document Notarized From Anywhere

Updated: 4 days ago

You do not have to be anywhere near a notary's office to get your document notarized.
Remote Online Notarization (RON) lets you connect with a licensed notary over a secure live video session and complete your notarization entirely from your phone, tablet, or computer. The document does not have to be from Texas. You do not have to be in Texas. You just need to show up online with your ID and your document ready.
Texas was one of the first states to authorize RON, and Valenciano Notary Services offers it to clients across the U.S. and abroad.
Who this is actually for
Anyone who needs a notarization and cannot or does not want to meet in person:
You are in another state and need something notarized without finding a local notary.
You are abroad and have a document that needs to be signed and notarized right now.
You are selling a property, signing a business agreement, or completing a power of attorney and the deadline does not wait.
You travel frequently and paperwork catches you on the road.
You simply prefer to handle it from home.
What you need
A device with a camera and microphone. A smartphone, tablet, or laptop all work. The session runs through a secure video platform.
A stable internet connection. Reliable enough to hold a video call without dropping.
Your document in PDF format. You send it before the session and sign it digitally during the call.
A valid government-issued ID. This is where identity verification happens. More on that below.
How identity verification works
RON platforms use a process called Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA). It pulls from U.S. identity and public records databases and asks you a short set of questions only you would realistically know, like past addresses or ZIP.
This works best for people with a U.S. identity footprint: a driver's license, state ID, or U.S. passport, and some history in American public records. If that describes you, the process is usually quick.
If you do not have a U.S. ID or SSN, KBA may not be able to verify you and in-person notarization would be the better path.
Common documents handled via RON
Powers of attorney
Affidavits and sworn statements
Eligible real estate and closing documents
Business and personal agreements
Estate planning documents
